The woman is framed at center with a relaxed poise and frying pan loosely at her side. She appears nearly maternal, like she was interrupted at work. Each of the men (and boy) have a prop - long rifle, dog or mule; early clothing.

Found near Cincinnatti with a faint pencil CAMP on reverse, otherwise unidentified. Rocky terrain, scrub trees, pack mules and the logs do not even appear to be finished with mud or a door. Seems to be temporary housing for mining or railroad / property speculation.

Compelling image with extensive damage. Dark stain with chips and horizontal crack the length of photo and board, archival tape repair here. Hazy and light albumen as expected, presents a bit stronger in person.

Sight size measures 7.5 x 9.5” on 8.25 x 10.75” board. Scarce primary reference that is most certainly worth the restoration.
