Imagine the emotional weight that kept these safe in a drawer and then for three more generations. George Wharton Edwards, director of the Art Department at Colliers, The Metropolitan Magazine, Wide World Magazine (London), The New York Times and Nature (also London) rejection letterheads to one unknown, discouraged photographer. Found in Ohio.

Dates appear between 1900 and 1906, subject matter twice related to the ‘engine’ in Niagara Falls. Each of (5) measures roughly 5 x 8” in very good condition, original folds and edge wear from the years. Should hang together, a reminder that struggle and disenchantment are not unique to us or the time.
